Hello everyone! It seems no matter what I do, meet her mandates, give her gold everything, lavish meals etc. She always has a meltdown/tantrum. It just gets so infuriating. She killed my legendary blacksmith, a legendary farmer and beat up one of my pigs....for no reason. After that I just had to quit and take a break. I just cant seem to get her mood above the worst one lol. I am thinking about locking her in her golden mansion and letting her starve. Does anyone have any tips on how to keep them happy? I might have to start over and try and edit monarchs out. It's just too much for me.

That kind of monarchs get real happy thoughts from a magma bath.

In other words, kill her and hope for a less grumpy monarch

Can you tell what's making her unhappy?  What thoughts are showing on her sheet?

I haven't had a monarch in a very long time, so I don't have any specific suggestions without that information.

I reloaded a past save before she was elected and booted her from the fort. I'm hoping someone else from another fort will be appointed instead of her. I will say, she was salty about being exiled though 

EDIT: I did take a look at her stats and i think it mentioned something about she being quick to get angry or miserable or something as a trait so I think I did the right thing. It sucks though because her only mandates were thrones lol.

Also, furniture quality matters very much to nobles. If your monarch is dining at a platinum +table+, but a lesser dwarf owns a wooden *table*, the noble will get jealous thoughts even though the platinum table is worth more.
At least that's how it used to work when you still designated a dining room from a table, not sure if it still works that way, now that rooms are made with zones.

A new Monarch was appointed and she is AMAZING! she just wants hoods to be made and is still living in a decent quarters with nothing else and she is one of the happiest dwarves in the fort!!! JOY!

On a related note, I had a psychotic child kill my original Baroness, and an Elf poet got voted Mayor in her place.
It's been a fair few years now, and she's still a Mayor. Will I ever get a titled noble back?
Apparently my fortress has been declared a duchy now, but the elf is still a Mayor.

I had a quick to anger master surgeon, he killed more dwarfs than he fixed. ended up banishing him from the fortress and my fort mood eventually returned to more sane levels.
