I can't find it sadly, I first saw it as an image file on /tg/ and lost it when I changed laptops. When I search for it online I get redirected to another short story of a similar plotline published in the 50s, which isn't the same one I read but here it is anyways if you're interested in that one

Well it's a shame you can't find the story, also I remember that episode of the Twilight Zone being a good one.
