So we live in a time of exponential change, right?

And if that change just kept going, we'd probably all die.

So it must plateau. After a exponential, explosion of change.

So you're left with a new setting. Standard historical shift. Like going from the Victorian era to now.

Idiots, do get sci-fi. They just don't take it seriously.

If they did take it seriously, and actually started playing the game, what would happen?

Well for one I am noticing that our fashion is typically stagnant and no effort to make cyberppunk fashion real has been seriously entertained by the people who control capital, once again proving that money can't buy taste

I might read this quote in isolation and walk away unconvinced that the author of it gets sci-fi, but hey, at least that means they're not an idiot!

So we give idiots rockets and wonder why they all crash and die, sounds like an interesting future.

You guys take the point. If the world is suddenly completely different, and the possibilities are rubbing themselves in your eyeholes, it's impossible to hold a stupid worldview. That's the basic problem with idiots.

We've never seen a world where people actually get the possibilities. In my opinion, you'd basically end up with a world full of D&D villains, because chasing power and idiots don't mix (way better then Putin though), but I want to see your take.

The world has never lacked idiots relying on magical thinking.

So we give idiots rockets and wonder why they all crash and die, sounds like an interesting future.
