first forum post, gotta make it count for my transgener agenda
right now all i can do to make the game gay is make bisexuality the default but i need more!!

love the game, i just feel like gender in it doesnt fit what i would like it to be and my opinion is the only correct onee!!!!

one option to change how sex & gender works may just be have dwarfs assigned a gender and sex at birth, but their internal or subconcious view of their gender may change or something, maybe also add like masculine and feminine presentation of themselves separate from gender idk.

literally remove gender and sex castes from most creatures and instead add a tag called like [BREEDING] or something that just lets them reproduce and change pronouns to they/them or it/its

adding pronouns to accomodate different identities could work in different ways, make dwarves able to have random pronouns or pick pronouns. one idea is to make it kinda like [ORIENTATION] for castes so like most dwarves of the male caste will go by he/him but some by other pronouns, though that kinda sucks because they'd be locked into that caste. maybe potentially allow caste types like a sex caste and then gender caste and make it so that a dwarf has a sex caste then a gender caste, the gender one able to change. i feel like these ideas are limited to what the game currently has to offer though, with the caste system and all.

add a [BREEDING] tag which allows a creature to breed without relation to castes, any two creatures can reproduce. this would also allow for people to mod gender out of the game, i guess.

the book series disc world has dwarves, and in their culture all dwarves are men, regardless of their biological sex. however, theres also a character that is a dwarf who is biologically female but didnt want to be a man which is pretty cool. this is a really cool concept

The characters being trans is already planned, and all personal names in the game are unisex. Homosexuality is also in already.

Your suggestion is unreasonable. DF is a history simulator at its heart. Concept of gender exist here, so it must exist inside as well.

I just felt like the way it was phrased was attempting to incite an argument about the real world, and I'm kind of burnt out on arguing that stuff, or arguing at all. I hope that's understandable

Definitely, I know the feeling. Things are getting very political nowadays and it's very tiresome. I try to take people in good faith but I know sometimes it isn't easy when we are invested in a subject. I think in DF we can agree to disagree without it being an issue.
