Stupid question
« on: March 01, 2008, 04:33:00 am »

Is there a way to move up/down the X-axis? For example, to get out of a river?

I looked at the keybindings and saw several entries for moving up and down, but all of the required the numberpad (I'm on a laptop). I tried remapping the keybindings to [ and ] with no success, but that might be because there was no way out of the river.

Press "alt + (direction)".  You'll receive a list of options as to where you want to go, including up and down.

However, to get out of a river, you need at least some swimming skill.  If you're drowning, you can't pull yourself out.

Hi!

I also noticed something else - you can't get out of the river if you are in tile with less than (7/7) water.

Perfect water traps for adventurers: 6/7 ponds =).

Hi!

Actually, (6/7) can be quite frustrating: Because while swimming, you can't go to the travel screen. So, either you get out of the water unto your own power or you are stuck forever.

I wonder if you could empty a pool using waterskins and drinking. At least until you get to (3/7) which is allegedly no longer swimming depth and would allow you to escape to the travel screen, I suppose.
