If a civ notices that dwarfs survived demon siege from within they would start informing other dwarf civs about digging too deep. If that won't work even dwarfs would declare war just to prevent another incident.

I think some factions could arrive that try to support the releasing of demons. They may have sleeper agents in your fort that start to sabotage everything that could prevent demons escaping.

I could see paramount rulers asking forts of not digging too deep since they wouldn't want to lose another part of their empire to demons.

They will of course measure if they could win with such as it may be extremely weakened.
