Probably not important enough for the actual initial release of the Steam version (unless it's easy/quick to add), but at some point, it would be nice to have reflections as a graphical feature, shown in water and other reflective tiles (even mirrors, if those ever get added).

Compared to other games, this would be rather easy on the processing power because of the top-down angle, as only items and other objects/creatures directly above (or in a nearly adjacent tile, depending on the size of the object/creature) would be reflected.

The reflection would just be the normal sprite of the item/creature, but flipped, made transparent, and perhaps tinted a bit to match the color of the tile/water (if the transparency doesn't do that sufficiently), all in accordance to how reflective that tile should be of course (a perfect mirror would just flip the sprite, but water would make it transparent).

In the case of water, a filter should be applied to the sprite to make it waver with the animation of the water.
