So iv been watching kruggsmash's splatterface and i am curious how he arranged fights betwene seemingly friendly units... i am wondering if there is a way to make friendlies fight to the death and i just never knew about it, burried under piles of menus and shit.

I know he isnt just in arena mode, he is using different designed enviroments and they clearly arent neutrals as he moves them around and arms them with special gear, and so i am completely baffled how he manages this.

Like its a complete mystery to me how he arranged this. A veteran of this game... I know how he healed guys betwene missions he just saved before the fight and reloaded his save.. but I am at a loss how he outfitted arena fighters got them situated, made them fight eachother to the death without using arena mode...

You cant put neutral units into an area and i cannot figure out how he made friendlies of the same civ fight. I could assume they are all enamies but thanhow did he outfit them?

Unless I'm forgetting something you can make units neutral in the arena, so that sounds like the most likely way.

For a slightly less sane way, you could also do it with DFHack, but I can't imagine it would be worth the trouble.

You could blame a civilian for a recent crime and watch the hammerer chase him and hammer him. Worked for a vampire I had.

It is arena mode. You can edit the environment.
(Just in case you skipped by the first correct reply in this thread).

I think toady will be in pretty rough shape in 30 years to still be working on this... isnt he in his 40s now?

Hmm. I like to think I'll still be in good enough shape to use my computer 30 years from now. I'm the same age as Toady, but with the stress of working for a company as opposed to 'living my dream' (or maybe this was my dream, I forget...).

30, obviously is a guess. He might just retire next year on Steam sales...
