What does raising a Danmed Hunter do?
« on: February 14, 2021, 11:21:08 am »

Ok so in a giant's cave, I found a book that contained the secrets to life and death. So long story short I gained the power to raise the dead. One is called animate corpse and the other is called raise danmed hunter. So first time I tried my powers, I tried the latter. It didn't really seem to be my comanion and did not follow me instantly. When I tried the former, it instantly followed me. Long story short I killed the giant I was looking for and want to raise it as a companion but raising him as the dead isnt giving me an option but raising him as a danmed hunter seems to only work.

Regular zombies are mindless and lash out at anything with non-compatible creature tags being neutral to the people who raised them (if its not_living, they're neutral to it, if it cannot undead it doesnt matter and they will target it) while the damned one you raised out of the giant is a intelligent undead and has sentient faculties to do things like dodge, and follow instructions introduced with the villian update.

Each instance of necromancer can only learn one intelligent undead-type, but most are aquitted with a magical power to that type, such as propulsing people with hand gestures, freezing people with stares, shooting out icicle projectiles and raising fog-mists. Its remarkable and maybe a result out of 47.05's bugfixes that it didn't turn on and attack you immediately because giants are semi-megabeasts, and you now have a very large and powerful magical companion.

So congratulations i suppose. When Toady can get round to finishing the villians arc post-steam premium release, the skipped adventuremode content would be expanded so that you can use lackeys to do villianous things. I mean to suppose having your own pet enthralled undead giant is already quite powerful already for evil purposes.
