Classify Tusks As Sharp Tools
« on: February 07, 2021, 03:56:03 am »

It would be so cool to butcher corpses and carve bones with tusks as a body part or handheld item. You can already do this with high efficiency using copper spears and spears aren't adequate for butchering.

Does anybody know how to become an elephant man in adventure mode? I literally did all advanced world settings possible to increase chances.

The spears in DF are like daggers on the long stick. Do a google image search for "authentic medieval spear" and that's what you'll see. They are nothing like tusks which are barely even pointy and certainly aren't sharp.

Ironblood didn't use an axe because he needed it. He used it to be kind. And right now he wasn't being kind.

They probably should be sharpenable like rocks, though. And are bones sharpenable? I don't actually play adventure mode.

You can actually do this with modding, by creating a custom tooth material with the BUTCHER_SPECIAL tag that makes it turn into a custom weapon when butchered.
