What Causes Creatures To Desire Necromancy?
« on: February 06, 2021, 03:47:28 am »

I want to know how can a creature have achieving immortality as it's life goal by it's values. I want to create a character that gives speeches about certain values and convinces people to them. Does perseverance or knowledge desire cause them to read necromancy slabs if they are easily accessible on display?

What exactly causes them to seek immortality?

Does anybody know how to become an elephant man in adventure mode? I literally did all advanced world settings possible to increase chances.

To the best of my knowledge, it is random, as are most worldgen events.  I've used DFHack scripts to try and find average personality attributes and values of historical figures involved in particular types of worldgen events, but was unable to find any pattern at all; the average of all units who participated in an event type simply came out to the average of its species' personality traits.  Worldgen will occasionally generate a "reason" string for their actions based on their personality but it's just fluff and had nothing to do with the decision made.

The only rule is that an creature with no maximum age will never seek out immortality.  Disappointing, I know.

Aw man. Let's hope it gets better in Steam version.

Game features aren't being added in the Steam release.

Just be patient, there's 20-30 years of development to go before even 1.0 is close. Myth & Magic will completely redefine what a necromancer is and why someone might want to be one for a start.
