Dig without care

An option for when you're digging, much like the auto-mine ores and gems, to not stop when you encounter hot or wet stone. That way, when you know that the area you're digging is hot/wet but want to dig it anyway, you won't need to keep reassigning.

Not yet.
There's hope that it might get slightly less annoying with Steam, but nothing mentioned so far.

This is the suggestions forum????? Tired, Shonai?

+1 for something in this vein, all those cancellations are truly annoying.

I've often wished I could order the dwarves to do this too. Make digging magma forges much easier.

Huh?  What do you mean?

The last two times I set up magma-powered workshops (actually the only times I’ve done so thus far), I dug out the workshops first. Then I channeled the necessary tiles, mined out the magma reservoir below the workshops, mined a 3 tile wide tunnel up next to the magma (but not actually breaching it), channeled out a 5x3 space below the tunnel, and dug a tunnel from the channeled out area to the main staircase.  Then I built a magma-safe bridge over the channeled out area, built a lever and connected it to the bridge.  After this I had my miners remove the ramps from below the workshops and had the bridge retracted so they could get out.  Next I had all the stones, gems, and ore dumped, and had the workshops built.  Finally, I closed the bridge and had the miners mine out the last three tiles separating the magma tube from the tunnel to the magma reservoir from below the bridge.  The only cancellations I got were when they found the magma tube (and those were expected).  No massive cancellation spam!

This would be a bad idea at magma level, but useful while dealing with light aquifers or digging under known water such as rivers and stuff.
