Hello,

Got a black bear visit in the middle of a strange mood.

Hauler has started construction in the craftsdwarf workshop.
Black bear comes by.
Chases hauler to other part of the fort.
Now hauler is lying there wounded.
Doctor is healing all other bear victims but not the hauler.
He just lays there.

How to solve?

Also the mood dwarf occupied my craftsdwarf workshop. Which I had build in a place I need to build something else. I tried expelling the moody. But the dwarf is still lying there. So it still occupies the shop. Which means it can't be removed.

He'll go insane eventually and the workshop will be freed, so there's no need to worry. You might want to check on how to deal with insanity, though.

Insane dwarves are pretty much useless, and your best option is finding a way to kill them, if they don't do it themselves first.

Permanently insane dorfs die as they don't eat or drink. The moody dorf not getting help is probably a bug resulting from moods not being possible to interrupt with "minor concerns". Dorfs go permanently insane from failing moods and from stress, although dorfs that have mooded successfully cannot go insane permanently.

Or build a wall round him and... wait..?

(If you're not above DFHacking lava, teleportation might a) Get him to the hospital zone, where sufficient treatment may occur even if rescue-hauling did not, or b) send to a handier/more-lavaful place to die.)


Get a slab/coffin ready, as may be appropriate.

If he is unconscious, try building a cage trap on top of him.

If you have some war animals, you can assign them to him as pets. They'll attack him as soon as the tantrum starts.

well the dwarf came out of his mood without a tantrum before the walls around him were finished so I couldnt put a lava source on him.

Even though I had exiled him already he just went to the meeting area and died of thirst. Problem solved.
