reptile man(tame) is a friend
« on: July 08, 2020, 03:07:16 pm »

I dfHack:tame, on all 9 of my reptile man, residing in caverns 2 and 3. Dug down, to them, and they pathed on up and joined the fortress.

Now what?

Ive tried dfHack:gui/gm-unit, with many different professions, listed in their own raws, but they only 'No Job', eat, drink and listen, watch performers.

Ive heard people reclaiming site, to have their AI activate and later have them join the dorf's civ. I do not want to go that route. What if I just make them all 'Drunk' profession, and overclock their Merriment/Friendship personality options, would that help lower the stress?

Cannot really find a use, maybe Ill untame some after establishing a nestbox to breed more, and see if their AI improves. Wiki says they can be friendly. Never looked in v to see if they were originally friendly, I just cheat-tamed um all.

Why you don't try them in military? They will lay eggs into nest boxes, but don't hatch them. I'm working on syndrome that temporary make reptilian women non-sentient for properly hatching eggs and starts if you give them any alcohol drink in your fortress (for prevent 'wild' reptilian women from being non-sentient).

aha, you are right, Iä! RIAKTOR! Her eggs are all unfertilized. Did a quick "tame -set 8" on male, he shot no spores. Did same thing on female, she meandered off her nestbox with eggs, must have unclaimed it. Retamed her and she went back to nestbox.

Well I did find this combo useful, combo: nestbox with reptile woman on her eggs, next to artifact display case. Almost always have a witness, as she sits on her eggs watching my artifacts!

Aslong as she does not get converted by a villain. Year 3, no thefts.

As long as ALL DWARFS FARM is on, the Reptile Man(tame) will gather plants, and gets a small amount of xps in farming. I used gui/gm-unit to set them all up as farmers, they are earning xps now.

Says they got kobold morals in raws, tortue for fun, etc. Not sure how it will blend with dwarf morals. I did change all the reptile man's merriment and leisure time to max, in order to help them socialize.

Until I can get eggs hatching, gonna avoid military. Isnt their a command to make stuff fertile in dfHack?

dfHack:fix-ster did nothing on eggs or cheat-tamed Reptile Man. Did a catplosion, thought it worked on what was under curser, but it just did cats. Now we got a bee/vermin eating kitten cage going.

First theft! Witness sitting on her egg, and 2 others. Forgot to interview egglayer, will try on next theft. Oh wait, pets need unique names to interview.  Bleh! Gonna have to work on getting these 9 cheat-tame animal men or just the 4 females, into becoming historic figures(names).

My noble squad was given the order to kill the visitor immediately, the nobles all mostly belong in a justice immune squad. No cascade to worry with. The CotG convicted dwarf accomplice, well one of his squadmates did. The Chief Medical Ofc.

Then I went about questioning all other, visitors, with similar titles and races. Killed them, too. Same way. Justice immune squad ordered to kill every visitor, for their gear, from now to eternity.

During fight, all Reptile Man Farmers(tame) helped the nobles/justice immune squad kill visitor. Some civs paniced.

The 9 Reptile Man Farmers(tame) also are set to be scholars in the public library, gave um all 2 pts in every knowledge.

So in addition to laying eggs, and harvesting plants, the 9 cheat-tamed animal men now ponder stuff. That's better than just watching them eating, sleeping and drinking.

Iä! RIAKTOR!, have you tried locking them in a breeding room, when tame, then turning them wild again, to get a clutch of fertile eggs?
