Moods happening in children is a regular thing. Doesn't happen to babies, but it can happen to even the youngest children.

To me it seems like the majority of moods happen to children. I keep losing all my random moods to stone and wood crafting children. I've got 7 farmers with a point each in Armorsmith, but no, let's mood a kid into another legendary wood crafter.

It's quite common at the moment. They create wood-bone-stone crafts and become legendary Woodcrafter-Bonecrafter-Stonecrafters. Be prepared to see a lot of dwarves trying to steal them and give them to completely legititmate visitiors like "Criminal, Baron Consort etc"
