Edit: Someone already made this topic. My excuse is that I was tired.

*Sigh*...

Dwarf Fortress isn't meant for everyone, and I think that's just fine.  It seems to have filtered out a lot of the netscum that pops up on other game forums.

Not to say all of it, but quite a bit.

Who knows?  We may actually get some new people worth having in this migrant wave.

Take it from us: once a major publisher snaps this game up and releases it on the DS - and it's bound to happen - its developers will be millionaires.

I don't think Yahoo quite fully grasps just how complex this game is.
*imagines DF trying to run on the DS's 67 and 33 MHZ processors*

The game may have simple graphics, but processor friendly it is not =P I just noticed the article myself, was about to post it but apparently got beaten to the punch. Nevertheless, more exposure can only be a good thing. I for one would love to see Toady get a sponsor of some sort to help with his expenses.. A man just can't live off donations alone!

Besides, we can always recruit the useless ones and have them test out our shiny new upright spikes on repeat.

Happily, this isn't a MU* but a single player game.  So even if there is a flood of doom to the forums, it'll probably peter out in fairly short order, and thankfully they won't be able to interfere with anyone's actual playing of the game.

I think any publicity is good for this game for sure.  Especially since you kind of have to be either 1.) totally insane 2.)unemployed 3.)a robot to actually be able to learn to play the game and to continue to play it.

He forgot option 4.)
Of an above average intelligence, willing to learn, adapt and spend more than 5 minutes trying to figure out a game, before giving up and going back to TF2.

*selects option 4.)*

I hope you're not insulting TF2.  ;)

I think I should make some dwarf models for Garry's Mode, making them look like the bearded smiley faces.
