[0.47.02] Everyone interrupted by anyone - but for what reason?
« on: February 11, 2020, 01:25:39 pm »

After the recent goblin siege I'm left with half the workforce trying to fix the other mangled/killed half.
The problem: Nobody can get anything done because of the mass "interrupted by carpenter|goat kid|tanner|etc".

When I look at the goat kid, carpenter etc, they are wounded but otherwise seem fine, i.e. no tantruming or other indications of any reason to be a source for interruptions.
Nobody is fighting or destroying anything, they're just trying to go to the hospital, take a drink etc, only to be interrupted and run away before trying again.

I do have a few necromancer dwarves and can see a few death stalkers about but all are marked as "friendly" in the units screen.

How can I find the reason for their interruption?

Are you sure the creatures that your dwarves are fleeing from aren't undead? View the descriptions of the creatures that your dwarves are fleeing from and if they have wounds that are normally fatal, then they are undead. One of your necromancer dwarves may have brought them back to life, and undead creatures cause normal dwarves to flee. I'm not sure what interactions there are when certain undead/intelligent undead/experiments are marked as friendly, however, so the "friendly" tag on the units screen may be misleading and could in fact be a bug, if that's the case.

It would also help if you could perhaps provide a screenshot of the offending area and units screen.

Picture of the scary carpenter. Blind on one eye and one broken lung.
Mind you, this scary carpenter is also interrupted by other dwarves when trying to rest.

Huh, that is strange.

Are you sure that a dwarf didn't attack another dwarf by mistake during the conflict? It's possible that that happened and now you are experiencing a loyalty cascade, and the other dwarves may be viewing each other as hostile entities and are too afraid to approach one another.

Definitely looks like a loyalty cascade. Might be a dwarf or a visitor who had dual loyalties flipping out.

Once one of my soldier threw tantrum and attacked a guineahen... which triggered a loyalty cascade that wiped out 90% of the military and killed half of the population in total.

Its the loyalty cascade bug. I had one where a failed strange mood resulted in a berserk dwarf. The berserk dwarf was promptly struck down, but then so too were about 20 other dwarves.

Fortunately with the new guildhalls its not that bad. You can train up new dwarves remarkably fast just by having them train in the proper guildhall.

I have new migrants going from zero metalsmithing skills to expert in everything in just a few years, and doing so only by learning from other dwarves in the guildhall.
