while we wait for pirate and/or the nemos here is what i have so far for our next armoured cruiser
specs
7k tonnes
propulsion:
coal fueled water tube boilers
3 or 4 turbins powering 2 shafts
speed: 20~22 knots
armaments:
4 QF 8"/45 Lorem M1890 in twin mounts fore and aft
8 QF 5"/45 Lorem M1890 casemates 4 port and starboard each
10 QF 4"/45 Lorem M1890 as shielded deckguns 5 port and starboard each
4 submerged torpedo tubes 2 port and starboard each.
Armour:
belt: external belt must be able to defeat our main gun at 2.5km away
deck: sloped deck 1.5 inches should be enough to defeat any shells that that hits the deck armour directly on the top and the sloped armour should be able to stop any shell from penning into the citadel after penning the belt
main turret: 2 inch top, side and back, face armour need to be thick enough to defeat a direct hit from main gun at 2.5km away
5 inch casemates: 2 inches
4 inch gun: gun shield just need to be thick enough to protect the gun crew from splinters
conning tower: thick enough to defeat main gun at 3km
Other Notes
-the ship has 4 range finders one built in each of the turrets of the main guns and one on top of the main tower and another on the top of the secondary tower
- has two fire control stations the primary that serves are the director for the main guns right below the bridge instide armoured conning tower and the secondary at the base of the secondary tower which is mainly used to give fire control for the secondary guns but can be used for main guns if the primary fire control station was knocked out.
- to increase survivability of the ship it will have compartments devided by water tight bulkheads which should keep flooding and fires localized to the effected compartments and minimize how much they can spread through out the ship.
Edit: Ok got bored and made made the made the serpent, Minnow, and our 7000 tonne CA using springsharp.
