How do I "find" who I chose as my baron again?

One can be assigned once a fortress meets some requirements. Is it actually possible to have one but it's not listed? I've never seen that before.

Never seen that. My guess is that Urist McBaron has done something stupid and died.

You can check on Malmensa's suggestion by looking at the dead units to see if you can find your baron there.
