Lore: Maw of the SeaAli sat on the cliffs edge. This was his favorite spot to relax, even if he wasn't really supposed to be relaxing right now. Really he was supposed to be on lookout in this general area. But considering how far away this area was from anything dangerous, he didn't feet like there'd be any harm done. He almost wanted to laugh, he could see thunderstorms a ways out from here, yet they seemed to stretch and bend to avoid Sujia like the plague. He'd look off this cliff often, at the beautiful ocean below, and he would wonder; What's out there? If they left this damned island, left these damned aliens, left the damned monsters all behind and went searching for something different, what would they find? A Crackle sounded out from Ali's hip, his radio. He lifted it up to answer.
"Ali, get your ass back here, it's lunch time." The voice said. That was his captain.
"Alright, on my way sir. Save some for me okay." Ali replied, he went to move, when he heard rushing water behind him. He was so high up, how could he have heard...
"I can't be held accountable for your rations Private, just get over here." Came the voice of Ali's captain. Yet Ali wasn't listening, too focused on the
noise from behind him.
Ali turned to look, and his radio dropped to the floor, his jaw practically followed. Stumbling backwards, he reached for his camera. Standard issue for Sujian scouts, with how dangerous a lack of attention in a major area could be around here no boys crying wolf were allowed, you needed pictures. The thing had to be miles out and yet...
"Ali? Are you alright out there Private? Ali!" His captain shouted, and Ali scrambled for his radio.
"Yeah, yeah I'm... I'm fine sir." Ali said, he could feel his heart in the pit of his stomach, beating like he was living his whole life in one minute.
"What was that all about Private?" The captain said, and Ali looked down at his camera. The image almost felt more vivid in his mind than on the small screen.
"S-sir... I don't want to be assigned to the waterfront cliffs anymore..."
That was his favorite spot to relax, though he wasn't supposed to be relaxing. He'd look off that cliff often, at the ocean below, and he would wonder; What's out there? Now he knew. He knew what they would find if they left this island, left the aliens, left the monsters.
