You take out your green key, unlock the door, and walk into the house. Small motes of light and dust fliter through the air, having gone so long without disturbance. You note a nice rug directly ahead, with a table and some stools off to the right. On the left, there is a chest and a bed. There's a note tacked to the chest. It reads: "Hope your journey wasn't too long, not many people can find this place. Well, down to business. This ranch is green and vibrant, crops grow well here in the bright light and temperate weather, though the winters are oft harsh. When I was preparing the ranch for you, I found a slime munching on the bokaba fruits that naturally grow in the southwest corner of the ranch. I wrangled it into one of the pens and left it some food, but it's probably going to be getting peckish by the time you arrive. I remember my first slime, a rock slime I christened Dolo after the stones in the area. Goddess, I was so young back then... Well anyhow, the ranch is yours now, and all I ask is you fill that book to the brim with the things you've seen. It's a very special book, when you open to a blank page, it will reveal information about monsters and objects nearby. Helped me a lot when I was an adventurer, though the pages have long since gone blank. Maybe one day I'll read of your adventures when the book is complete... Oh, I almost forgot. In the chest here there are a few schematics to get you started. I had more than this, but it seems I've misplaced them somewhere. I'm sure they'll turn up eventually though. Good luck out there! - G. U."

Seeing no reason not to feed and pet the slime, you set about doing your first bit of ranch work. You go over to pet the slime. It ignores you as you approach, mostly just moseying around in it's pen. But once you stick your hand in, it leaps at you! It does about 10 damage to you in it's surprise attack. It seems pretty hungry, it's probably been without food for a while. Begrudgingly, you walk to the other side of the farm and gather some fruit. This takes a while, and you feel your stamina depleting a bit, but you give the slime it's food and it seems to calm down a bit.

As you watch it, your book begins to glow. A new page has been added to your book! You can read it at any time to learn more of the monsters you discover.

Discovered Common Slime!

Now you have a few things you need to do. What should you name your slime?

Afterwards should you...

A: Read more about common slimes.
B: Inspect your new slime.
C: Take the slime out of the pen.
D: Walk away.

Read the book real fast - I'll take charge of keeping out pages straight so we can flip through them without IC flipping through them.

Read the book. Always best to know what we're doing.
I was thinking we'd have the food with us while we were petting though :p
