Anna Mór Ní Chonghaile, aka Big Anna Conneelly, was an Irish criminal and murderer who flourished during the 1820s and 1830s.
Ní Chonghaile lived with her sister and brothers at Teach Leath Bhealaigh near Derrycunlagh, County Galway. The family are "said to have committed many murders at some period before the Famine". Their names are given as Kathsha (her sister) and her brothers Columb and Breen Dharag ("Red Brian"). The family were criminal associates of Liam Dearg Ó Mainnín, robbing and/or murdering passers-by with him. They were said to have disposed of the corpses in the lake or about their house. Ó Mainnín was murdered by a fellow-thief, Sean na gCannai Ó Labhraí, and at some point afterwards Ní Chonghaile and her siblings were arrested and charged. The siblings' ultimate fate is unknown.

Liam Dearg Ó Mainnín was an Irish criminal and murderer who flourished during the 1820s and 1830s.
Ó Mainnín lived on an island on Loch an Ghadai in Derrycunlagh, Connemara. He was a confederate of the inhabitants of Teach Leath Bhealaigh, who "are said to have committed many murders at some period before the Famine" (2006, p. 42). Their names are given as Anna Mór Ní Chonghaile, her sister Kathsha, brothers Columb and Breen Dharag.
"It was on this island that Liam Dearg, the thief, used to live, and he had a small boat to come in and out. He used to watch the road until he'd see someone coming alone from Clifden or going there. If he failed to get a hold of someone going west he would get a hold of them going east, and he would take their money from them or the goods they had bought. At that time no respectable woman would go that way without two or three people to accompany her, for fear of Liam Dearg." (2006, pp. 42–43)
He is said to have disposed of the corpses in the lake.

Sean na gCannai Ó Labhraí, aka Sean O'Lowry, was Irish criminal who flourished during the 1820s and 1830s.
Ó Labhraí was a native of Connemara, and a professional criminal. He was an associate of Liam Dearg Ó Mainnín of Loch an Ghadai in Derrycunlagh, Connemara. He eventually murdered Ó Mainnín and hid his body for a time in his own house. A neighbouring child apparently saw the murder being committed, but feigned ignorance in case Ó Labhraí killed her too. He is said to have eventually been arrested by the local landlord, Thomas Barnwall Martin of nearby Ballinahinch.
