With this brief explanation, this suggestion is to add a grumbler
to fill a nessecary gap in social activity ideologies individuals and civs can take since there is a big blind spot between being openly unfriendly, and reclusively withdrawn.
Why would we need it?Grumbling or complaining is a nessecary form of expression of things we dont like, often in protest at something, someone or just much of nothing at all. Dwarves being shut away are able liars, not wanting to reveal anything about themselves, where they live, where valuable artifact socks may lie, but are too open when constantly drunk and value lying too low to seriously consider lying to their peers, therefore general grunting of discontent should fill the void to stop the silence.
Masses of socially rejected, unfriendly drunk dwarves bond over the mutual friendship of complaining about every facet of their life, from rain (mostly talking about rain) detestible vermin, filthy water and everything else that irks them
putting the world to rights and maybe once in a while putting forward a persuasive arguement, while the rare friendly and humerous individuals pool up elsewhere. Away from the moping masses that is drunk dwarf status-quo.
How is it used?Whenever a dwarf has a negative opinion or thought, this is a topic for them to grumble about, its that simple really, or its relevant to some bad news they've heard in or out of the fortress, a dwarf in a world of euphoria cannot grumble so much so the nessecary creation of misery to spice up dwarven lives or just letting random events of life like pets, friends and family dying give them something to think about.
Highly optimistic (100) dwarves cannot grumble, but all alcohol works as a depressant to lubricate even the most optimistic dwarf off thier high horse if they were unfriendly and shut off enough already rather than conflict with the ability to lie like some sort of truth serum.
- It is the opposite of the 'Stoic' and private mindsets, as it is a negative social static but remains gregarious, shouting loudly into the crowd about your problems for anybody to listen to, to get it off your chest, maybe you'll get punched, maybe someone will shout something back eitherway its a interesting bonding method for dwarves appropriate to their lifestyle if they can't be freindly and civil.
