I generally do the biggest part year 1, digging to caves and securing it with walls, to do farming & water underground, and completely secure aboveground.

Year 2 i build the rest, metal, soaps, army, hospital, etc...

By year 3, i don't do anything more in concrete in my fort : mostly polishing the dying holes, things to sell, and a lot of bedrooms and furniture.
