Fort Messenger

What skills or attributes or personality is helpful for who we assign as a messenger for our fort ?    I checked the dwarf fortress wiki, but no details.  I searched the forums here yet no luck.

None that we know of so far.
Brand new features won't appear on the wiki until people have actually played enough to understand them to the point that they are confident enough to write a wiki article.

Messengers only have one job so far. If they get involved in diplomacy later some skills might be required. Also encounters in the wilds don't happen right now so stealth and combat skill aren't necessary (but may be one day).
