I've never had this problem before, but my baron won't promote.

I'm at a 75 pop. Been running for 6 years, ~3million created wealth and 210k exported. Last few years I've just been donating a bunch but I can't get the liaison to promote my baron! There's plenty of dwarf civs nearby, so I'm not sure what I'm missing here.

Wasn't all of this tied into the new holdings model? I don't think donating will impact that, but supposedly being prosperous (those numbers sound high enough to me) should draw dwarves to found new sites near your fort and be associated with it. Have you gotten any notifications or news about that?

I saw some reports from others that it took 5-6 years for them to see their first hillocks spring up, but I haven't played since the new mechanic was introduced and don't have a benchmark myself.

I got a few notifications about new sites being founded near me but they don't show up on the world map for whatever reason :/

On the wiki, it says to prevent the outpost liason from meeting with your mayor until the caravan has left. That worked for me back in 44.05.

(I have the same problem now, but my fortress has become a mountainhome on accident, so the outpost liason never meets with my mayor anymore
