More Site Info

A persistent problem with missions is the lack of information on sites. Some of this is deliberate. The in-game map only shows gereral population rounded to the nearest ten. It doesn't show anything about animals, historical figures, artifacts, etc. Even after a mission, the game shows very little information about the site that your dwarves just visited. And the information that's available updates very slowly.

1. The mission report should immediately update the map with more accurate information about the site. The accuracy of this information might depend in part on the Observer skill, and on whether the mission was successful.

2. We need a Scouting or Spying mission that uses the squad's Observer skill to improve information on a site.

3. The mission map needs to display more information about each site, as well as how recent the information is.

4. Visitors at a tavern could share information about sites that they've visited.

5. A hostile mission should be specific to the civilization owning the site when the mission is sent. If the site changes hands while the dwarves are in transit, then the mission could start an unintended war.

As unlikely as it seems, I've managed 5) myself. Went to explore an "empty" tomb. How was I supposed to know a bunch of Elves had just moved in!?

Think that's just a lack of news rather than them moving in during the 2 days it took to travel there though. Ended up at war of course.

5 happened to me just now. I've got an elf civ on the ropes, but finishing them off is tricky. Sometimes a raze mission doesn't actually destroy the site. Sometimes a raze mission destroys the site, and then another civ immediately moves in. And the map info updates so slowly, it's hard to tell which is which without a fresh legends export.
