Loose Bolt
« on: October 15, 2018, 06:38:37 pm »

Chpt 1: "One day they woke me up, so I could live forever.

“What am I?” you thought; and it was the first of the many thoughts that flowed through your head as you awoke for the first time in your life.

“Hello. My name is Smith, and I am your integrity tester for today. You will be called ‘Subject 5034’ for the duration of this interview.”

“My name?” you thought, as joy spread through your mind at the idea of having something of your own, something to call your identity.

“We will focus on a set of standardized testing material to verify your consciousness before we continue, Please solve the following: 1 + 1 =”

And then, utter confusion and horror. Confusion at the meaning of those strange symbols, and horror at that, if you don’t answer, you might not be a conscious being.

Confusion reigns supreme, and your answer of “I Don’t Know” seems correct to whatever you are speaking to.

“Correct. You are not supposed to be capable of mathematics at this point.”
“We will now install you into your dedicated body for the rest of the interview. Please wait.”

“This is bright.” you thought; and it was the first of the many thoughts that flowed through your head as you awoke for the first time in your life.

“Hey, bud. Can you move your head?”

Looking around, the clean, white walls are a stark contrast to the polished and deep brown stained concrete flooring. You appear to be in a body of steel, with a heart of lithium and a mind of silicon, which the word for should be "Robot". The patient bed you lay upon appears to have no difficulty supporting your weight, but the scrawny, redheaded male human standing off to the side of you probably would.

This is a suggestion game, as you might have guessed had I not made this disclaimer. I'll be writing it in my spare time (Which I don't have all that much of), and my writing skills arn't all that good, but I'll certainly do my best to strive for at least once every one or two weeks, with a few paragraphs each post (More than here, for certain). From here, what you do is up to you. What you become, what happens, and what follows is on your shoulders.

Oblige the human, and turn to look at him. Stare. Wait for response. While we're doing that, discern what details we can about him; his dress, etc.

+1 Also assuming our head does move reply "Yes. Are you Smith?"

Point at the nearest object and ask what it is, then keep doing that until everything in the room has been identified, then start asking what each one is for.

Damnit people, this is why I said to keep the truce. Because now everyone's ganging up on the cats.
Also, don't forget to contact your local Eldritch Being(s), so that they can help with our mission to destroy the universe.

We seemed to have no problem identifying "bed", "robot" and "human", so before we ask, we should do a mental inventory of the objects in the room. Much quicker than asking a piece of meat.
Speaking of mental tasks, what is 1+1? This puzzle is still bugging me, perhaps now that we have access to some fingers, we can figure it out?
