Advanced Generation question
« on: January 23, 2018, 08:30:21 pm »

Also, I cant find the thread where this is normally discussed -_-

Any suggestions on ways to eliminate oceans during worldgen? Id like to keep little lakes and rivers if possible.

A high minimum (above 99) means no oceans as they need elevations below 100.
A low maximum (below 300) means no mountains as mountains need elevations above 300.
River start locations need a minimum elevation of 300. Therefore, a world with a maximum elevation of 299 everywhere prevents river generation, but rivers can still occur if maximum elevation is set to 300.
Mountain peaks can only form in squares with an elevation of 400.

Some lines from the wiki that helped me a lot, this is referring to the min max elevation settings.

Information appreciated, thank you!

Soo.. 400 max, 101 minimum should result in rivers and lakes, but no oceans. I'll give this a try ^_^

Np! I also have anxiety about too many rivers due to old army movement bugs I don't kmow have been fixed.

There is also a minimum river start location i set to 0 and I mess with rainfall and drainage, be sure to adjust or put 0 in "minimum bla bla tiles for acceptance" or your world will never cook.
