can't butcher coati

one of my dwarves killed a coati, and they wont butcher it or bring it to a stockpile so It can be butchered, they refuse to touch it, I have a dwarf with all labors turned of cept refuse and burial hauling and he just socializes, standing orders are set only to ignore vermin remains from outside...please help

If it was killed outside, you may need to go to orders and options and turn on gather bodies from outside. I will load up the game and get you the correct key strokes, but that's a starting place.

Naturally, dwarves don't collect vermin bodies and such from the outdoors.

like I said, only VERMIN remains are set to be ignored, I double checked this before posting this thread

Sorry, I didn't mean to question what you wrote. I went back through and had a corpse from outside that was butchered just fine in my save.

If you want to make a copy of your save and pop it over, I can take a look. You should be able to have them hauled to a corpse stockpile and then butchered, so I am drawing a full blank on why they are ignoring it. The corpse isn't forbidden, right?

fair enough, once my craftdward refused to make the bone and rock crafts until I enabled wood crafting on him so he could make the wood nest boxes I had qued

You can promote a task to move it to the top of the list and have it be the next job assigned. I generally have a different crafting workshop for each associated labour.
