Prevent burial of dwarf
« on: December 06, 2017, 03:37:31 am »

I have an odd question. One of my dwarf's wife died at one point (to a wereanteater no less), and she eventually became a ghost. However, she is only haunting her husband, who doesnt mind her hanging around at all. Completely doesn't upset him. So of course, I want to ensure this couple stays together. So my question is, is there any way to prevent dwarves from burying one specific person, without just dumping the body in the river (would rather have no loose parts lying in unreachable places, that bugs me).

Yes. Mark the corpse as "forbidden". That will cause the dorfs from not moving it (but you should probably make sure it's in a place where you won't need to move it in the future, as the dorfs won't move forbidden objects to e.g. place a new chair on that tile).
You can also atom smash the corpse or burn it in magma.

Magma. Torch the corpse.

A tendon in the skull has been torn!
The Raven has been knocked unconcious!

Elves do it in trees. Humans do it in wooden structures. Dwarves? Dwarves do it underground. With magma.
