Farming, crop name in red.

Suddenly my crop name turned red and I can't plant any more?  I have plenty of the plump helmet spawns.  Is there a maximum or anything?

No more time for the crop to grow before a season change = red.

I'm afraid this belongs in the question section, but I'll help nonetheless. There are two states of redfullness. A darker red (I think) means that there isn't enough time to plant it before the end of the season. A lighter, bright red means that you're out of seeds. I think. The best way (to my knowledge) to gain seeds is to brew the resulting crops, or purchase them from caravans.

On another note, crops seem to only be plantable when the seeds are already in bags. I was trying for a while to plant some gathered plants above ground and seemed incapable until constructing some bags.
