most materials used in artifact creation
« on: December 31, 2007, 11:53:00 am »

i kid you not, a child got possessed to do this, the kid took over a craftdwarf shop and proceeded to get this list of materials:

1 Cocoa tree log
1 raw green glass
1 turtle shell
1 horse leather
1 adventurines
1 chalk block
1 pig tail cloth

i'll keep you posted on the results, it better be good i tell you with all those items i've never had a strange mood use more than 3 or 4 items before so to see this kid haul 7 over to the shop is pretty unheard of for me at least.

It's going to be a Bed/Coffin/Piece of Jewelry. I can guarentee you that it'll either have spikes of Cloth or the cloth will have images on it... Strong feeling

and a short time later we have ::drumrolls::

"sitalngutegdolil "the west cyclopean locks". a cocoa tree crown

This is a cocoa tree crown. all craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality. it is encrusted with adventurine and encircled with bands of green glass and pig tail. this object menaces with spikes of turtle shell.
On the item is an image of dwarves in cocoa tree, the dwarves are traveling.
on the item is an image of elves and dwarves in horse leather, the elves are speaking with the dwarves.
on the item is an image of dwarves and dwarves in chalk, the dwarves are speaking with the dwarves."

'and what is the value of such craftsdwarfship?' you ask? well you can have this beautiful crown for only 15,600g!

you know i'm actually suprised one of those images wasn't of a dwarf raising a magnetite table, the past 2 artifacts had that image, and they were both hatch covers....

I wish my dwarves made something useful, like weapons, in their moods. It's only ever happened to me in one fort, which I accidentally erased the world to.

One billion b-balls dribbling simultaneously throughout the galaxy. One trillion b-balls being slam dunked through a hoop throughout the cosmos. I can feel every single b-ball that has ever existed at my fingertips, I can feel their collective knowledge channeling through my veins. Every jumpshot, every rebound and three-pointer, every layup, dunk and free throw.

Apparently, he broke the bones into tiny pieces and arranged them into spikes.
There's alot of spikes...lots and lots of spikes.

Proper, dwarven jewelery can double as deadly weapons.

That's fortress dependant, just like engraving.

Ooh. I had a dwarf make an artifact decorated with hydra leather. Worth quite a bit for a crown.
