water depth help

hey i noticed on some videos people have water and lava show up as a red or blue 1-7 representing the depth. how do i do that? it seems useful

From your DF folder, go to the "data" folder, then "init", then the "init" text file. There's an option, [SHOW_FLOW_AMOUNTS:NO]. Change that to YES.

go to c/blah blah/Dwarf Fortress/data/init and open the init.txt file from there then search (ctrl+F)for SHOW_FLOW_AMOUNTS it will show:
----------------------------------------------------------------
Set this to YES to display fluids as numbers indicating depth.

[SHOW_FLOW_AMOUNTS:NO]
----------------------------------------------------------------
change the NO to YES and all liquid in game be it magma or water will show as numbers 1-7 indicating its current depth on that tile.
