640x300 tileset release
« on: June 27, 2007, 12:36:00 pm »

Hey guys, finished my 640x480 set. Everything is completely shaded, though I've kept a lot of the icons looking traditional. I also centered every icon, it always bothered me everything was a bit to the top left of their box. I love using this set at work   :) Enjoy!

Also added set to wiki. If you need help installing just ask.

Nice, though some of the letter tiles look a bit hard to read.
The Idlers thing looks a bit difficult, as an example.

But what do I know?
Everything I say should be taken with atleast 1 tsp. of salt, and another liter of Dwarven Wine is recommended.

Actually I brightened the numbers for that reason alone. I perfer to keep the text the way it is because idlers is about the only thing it does not show up well on. I've been playing with this tileset a week and that was the only problem I found with it. I'd like to keep the shading for the greater good.

Could you do me a favour an upload a full map using the tilset to http://mkv25.net/dfma/  so I/we can browse around a full map and get a look at the tileset in action?

Looks good from here, not sure about the gradient on the font.

I'll do that as soon as I get home in an hour or so.

If the dark edges for the alphanumerics are the only thing stopping you from using it, I could change the darkest shade to something lighter.

Alright guys, I changed the darkest shade closer to the next shade, and reupped to the wiki. Refresh the page for new screenshots.
You can see the updated tileset in the map archive here.

Also  is the bmp directly for the lazy

Let me know if you have any further annoying issues with it     ;)

Thanks! It took quite a bit of time to get it just right, and I'm still not quite satisfied until most of the rest of you are  ;)

I updated it a few more times this morning to darken the other tiles after I lightened the alphanumerics. Everything has been updated except the map archive pic which I'll get to later.

I'd be happy to fix anything else that arises.
