Hunting problem

Hello folks! first post here

I've noticed that my hunter hunt only certain type of animals. Specifically in the observation period (about 18 months) they hunted:
>Hippo
>Weasel
>Eagles
>some other birds
and didn't hunted:
>raven
>crocodile
>capybara
They completely ignore capybara but as soon as a eagle touch the ground they run hunting.
There is a know reason for this?

No. However, missile targeting is wonky in that xbow dorfs don't seem to know how to move to within firing distance if they can't path to the target (such as birds in the air and capybaras and crocs out in the water).

I'd always assumed the hunters didn't hunt ravens since there are no butcherable returns, but now that you mention it, I've never seen them hunt crocodiles. It might be that creatures with the amphibious flag are not hunted, which would explain the capybaras.

I thought of that but but they do hunt hippo. They also seem to ignore rattlesnake
