It's subtle, basically some of the darker colors that are harder to see on a black background are brighter (notice the dark blue 'fisherdwarf' in pic 1), and the garish colors are more pastel (notice Jeweler and in Pic 1 and bright blue 'tame' in Pic 2) The grays have also been altered to darker as well.
I couldn't capture Magenta because it's so rare

Overall it's a very nice color scheme. It makes the harder stuff easier to read and less garish on the eyes. A lot of other color schemes focus on making the bright garish colors less garish, but don't really bother making the darker colors brighter, which this color set does both.

I would say you should tinker with the greens a bit. The dark green is now as bright as the light green was before while the bright green becomes more pastel colored (dark green 'Work Animal' in Pic 3 vs the light green 'Jeweler in Pic 1)

A suggestion: take a screenshot of the Z-Status page (without a graphics tileset), since that'll have all 16 colors to represent the different professions:


On a side note, I personally prefer the True CGA palette.

I quite like how it's easier to read about the fishers there. That would translate across as making things made out of kimberlite and cobaltite easier to see as well...
