...okay, perhaps it wouldn't. I suppose it could stop people who think that the game is currently alive from posting questions, but that wouldn't really be that useful.
However, if we get a notification when a post is unlocked, origamiscienceguy could simply unlock the thread when he returns, instead of posting anything.

I try to join any RTDs that are new and interesting, or at least reasonably so. It's not fun to read even 20 pages of previous turns to figure out what's going on, so I try to get in early... which I did, for this. Early enough to be joining the game that led up to this one.
