How would you go about making sure the statues relate to the conflict?

By using the 'details' tab for picking what will go on the statue. It will light up and be under 'd' in the 'choose what you want the forge to make' thingy if you can add details. Aka: figurines, statues, those kinds of things.

Sorry! I forgot to dwarf peeps and now I'm gonna only dwarf on those who don't have 'Comrade' with their name. Comrade Reg and Comrade Iteb shall remain!!!!!

Ok. Sorry it's been a while since the last post. ^^; I'm afraid I'm going to have to put this on hiatus until my college semester is over (or at least, my English class would be) so, about two more weeks. My english class has thrown an elephant horde's worth of stuff at us, so yeah...

OOC: Hurrah! I'm back! With a small update, only two months have gone by. But they'be been helpful months!

Those damn plant loving fascists have arrived. They did come the right way to the depot though, I was worried the idiots would get lost.

Armok shall be pleased by the offering of their blood! After we take their goods, of course. Seize and Slaughter is always great fun!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Sanctume II has been getting antsy as it is, time for him to go to work! I love how they don't fight back.

I was wondering why the fish cleaning wasn't happening despite us having given the fisher, Comrade Alath, a fishery and storage. Her husband, Comrade Endok, told me that she never has bothered to clean the fish after dropping them off in the storage area. I quickly remedy that by having him clean the fish in between cooking meals.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I also have myself cook once again so we never run out of food while he's cleaning fish, and so that I can teach Comrade Endok the proper prayers and blessings for the food!

As a result of the fish being cleaned, we have shells for the shell leggings I asked be prepared. Comrade Lorbam began work immediately, thus I've assigned her to that craftsdwarf's workshop as well as given her the bed above it. And changed her profession to 'Shell Carver'. The next fall caravan shall have their leggings! And we might be able to use other shell items for our marksdwarves? Might be better to give them all copper uniforms though. Better protection if the enemy gets close...

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I also finalize how the other workshops you can see in the sketch will be set up. Counter-clockwise from top right: Shell, Bone/Skull, Wood. I originally was going to have stone in there as well, but I think I'll move that to be say, figurines rather than 'crafts' or something.  That would be in the currently empty place under the shell workshop.

I've gotten a large number of the dwarves without anything to do to start smoothing out the upper level living quarters and offices. We're also getting lavish meals, thanks to the fish being cleaned!

Thank Armok! Migrants have arrived early in the year! This is a great boon to us!

Felsite 5 Y30

There were a great many of them, took them a few days to all arrive and get settled. 18 in total. Really helpful especially because a few of them are capable of taking over from each other and the dwarves we had before they arrived in several needed fields. The multitude of skills means I can get the military rotation and obligation started. Just need to start looking for military ore veins on levels we aren't going to put stuff. And find the magma sea for ease of making armor, weapons, and other metal stuff.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

A great many comrades have left RedStar, probably because the living conditions there were awful from the stories I've heard from the previous comrades who came last year. In both migration waves, a single dwarf from the mountainhome made their way to us as well. Those are Imic the ArcBuilder and Rethi-Eli the CombatSuturer. Oh, I forgot to mention, the most recent migrant wave included a fair few dwarves with some skill in the various ways of doctoring, thank Armok.

Yes, Rethi-Eli shall be training in the military when he isn't suturing wounds. Imic meanwhile shall be a stonecrafter and an architect, doing the latter alongside Ferrous-Builder.

Because we have the military as a necessity now, I have drafted plans for the barracks.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

All the rooms are one horizontal-urist wider on all sides than they will be when completed because I shall hide the dirt walls and floor with stone block walls and floor! Hammerdwarves shall be on the left, Speardwarves on the right, Archers in the bottom-middle. Currently that area isn't drafted because I need to figure out how best to set up the archery range for several squads.

Here's the file for Imic:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

And the file for Rethi-Eli:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

During a chat with Sanctume II, I discovered that he and Tovarisch CABL are in love! I know what weapon Tovarisch CABL shall be using (a hammer)! Here's to the Combat Couple of Sanctume II the Guard and Tovarisch CABL the Killer of Tyrants!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
OOC: That means you guys help with the archery set up. :P Oh, dare I make two archery ranges that face each other so in the event of a miss there's a chance the other dwarf will get shot? That'll give my hospital staff something to do.

Ok. Slight spoilery post. I've reached the most infuriating cavern. It's a water filled one with warm stone mixing with damp stone and there's semi-molten rock and crap right under the wet cavern. I'm starting to see how far the warm stone goes before I'm going to channel out a pit and crack it open to see if the magma will flow into the small pit where I can put magma forges and stuff. Wish me luck, and you'll see what happens in the next post.
