Have some modding questions for my mod that im making.

So my account just got approved and i have been wanting to ask you guys some questions. Its for a mod that im in process of making called:
"Armok Wills It!" Basically what my question is if make another dwarf race called Chaos Dwarfs all i have to is just copy the stuff from the old dwarfs. And then edit it so i have 2 dwarf civilizations but make the new one playable. And then add things from there??? (And yes i looked at the wiki i just want to make sure im going to be doing it right and not realizing i didn't wrong from the complete start. Just want to make sure im on the right path ya know.) Thank you for your help.
