I ran a Let's Play: Dwarf Fortress thread last month, over at the forums of rpg.net .

No rampages of murderous elephants, a la Boatmurdered, but once the play starts moving it does include a number of extremely hardcore dwarves, a wall of steam, a panic room, a marble castle, a Hellgate, dismembered wildlife and a diabolical goblin alliance.

That was great, though it ended far too soon.  Maybe somebody should point them at Nist Akath for a true lesson in epic.
