Well, it's more parallel universe creatures that got spiraled through time and space.
Such as:
Pale Ones: Pale, winged, stronger kobolds, basically.

Vramin: Mutated dwarves from another world with horrifying tendrils, claws of steel, and multi-caste.
I plan for one caste, should this mod become real, to have the [CURIOUSBEAST_DRINKER] tag. This would be explained by this variety remembering the taste of alcohol and searching for more.

Draco Leo: Purple, winged, big, horned, fireball-breathing lions with red eyes. (Somewhat based on the Final Fantasy series's Behemoth.)

And also some creatures from DF stories (if all goes well):
So far, one example would be The Nothing from Nomekast. (Can't think of many more.. anything from DF stories, anyone?)

2 (very psychic) races:
Cosmi: Psychic elves living in cities. Not very nature-bound compared to standard elves.
Mani: Copper-skinned horned psychic humanoids. Only feature discernable on their "faces" would be their glowing eyes. (Somewhat based on the Mani-Mani Statue from EarthBound.)

2 secrets:
Psychic: Allows access to the psychic powers of the Cosmi.
Sentience Bringer: Allows you to make creatures sentient with an interaction. Why not?

Oh! And a new megabeast inspired by Master Hand from Super Smash Bros. (Because I am a Nintendo fan.):
Hand of Armok: Big ass floating hand made of steel. Able to "cast" dragonfire, freezing wind and a necrotic gas.

(Hope I can make this mod a reality. May need help though.)

i don't read many df stories
cosmi: depends on what you mean by "psychic"
mani: possible (still depends on what you mean by psychic)

psychic: etc.
sentience: even been done, quite easily
hand of armok: possible

The "psychic powers" would be interactions.
List:

Dust Burst: an offensive ability used by Cosmi, Mani, and those with the Psychic secret.  Basically like a somewhat directed, decently strong cave-in dust. Medium cooldown period.

Knockout Mist: Psychic Secret Wielder (Psychics) and Cosmi can use this. Basically a mist with a syndrome that simply knocks the opponent(s) out. Long cooldown period.

Sickening Gas: Mani-exclusive. A gas that causes fever, nausea, and coughing up blood. Long cooldown period.

Blinding: Cosmi-exclusive. Blinds opponent(s), obviously. Short cooldown period.

Pain Flash: Psychic-exclusive. Causes body wide pain to the opponent(s). Long cooldown period.

Slumber Mist: Mani, Cosmi, and Psychics can use this. Like Knockout Mist, but makes the enemy drowsy instead of knocking them out. Short cooldown period.

This is what I have so far as a plan.

might be easier to make those direct target, since trailing flows are somewhat unreliable

Pretty much all the ones with trailing flows. The dust burst obviously has to continue being a TRAILING_DUST_FLOW, though.
