Dwarves not Worshipping?

My dwarves will not worship at the temple, which I covered in slabs. Is it because the slabs take up the "dance floor"?

Doesn't always apply - in my experience, lack of at least 5x5 dance floor with walkable space still present mainly prevents dancing in tavern (though too small location areas will kill FPS). Here, food stockpile/temple works:
