That's actually kind of sad...

"She dreams of creating a masterwork some day, and this dream was realized."

She's 2. Dream a little bigger, kid.

Perhaps she's just really, really satisfied with life. Content at age 2, she's fulfilled all her dreams - now she's ready to fulfill her ambitions and dig deeper. Metaphorically of course, or perhaps literally

Why is it sad, I don't get it? She wanted to make an artifact, and did. How many years does a dwarf have to fail to fulfill their dreams before succeeding for it to be happy instead of sad? Is there a cut off? What's sad is a dwarf whose only dream is of raising a family, but they get a mood and go crazy because there aren't any shells on your embark, and so they go berserk and kill their wife and newborn baby before being struck down by the fortress guards. Sad, pfft. You haven't played this game very much, have you?

Well, I see it as sad too. I mean, how will she feel, never being able to surpass that one artifact? churning masterwork after masterwork, but never matching that first artifact?

Depends on whether she made the artifact through possession (and didn't learn anything) or she actually learned from it. The game counts creating a masterwork as fulfilling the dream just as much as creating an artifact, so technically, if she became legendary, she'll be fulfilling her dream over and over and over again throughout her life as she churns out masterworks. If it was a possession, then yeah, that's kind of sad I guess.

This is just useful. Now you can toss her into your military and throw her at the !FUN! things roaming around the world, or inside it ;)
