Elizabeth opens her book, flipping to the section on attack spells. She waits for them to make the first move - if she just attacked while Sabi and the demon charged she'd just hit them.

Lidia casually steals a gigantic chunk off of Ray's pastry and nibbles at it. "Well, things went from frantic to nothing in a ridiculously short amount of time, didn't they?"
The man near Minty ends up as part of the group trying to explain war to the robot.
"Alright, so, look at it this way. Say one group wants another group to change their way of life to a way they prefer, and the other group isn't having a single bit of it because they ain't got a reason to. So the first group basically has to use force if they want to get that done, which means group two shoots back at 'em because obviously they don't want to get taken over."

The swarm is upon the group. The rat leading the charge ends up whacked into a wall by several hundred pounds of angry demon. This probably is the driving force behind several of the rats poking at it while backing away, most likely keeping it's attention for the two other waves of furry fury to run past. One rat seems about to whack Sabi in the head but pauses as they fall. It begins laughing at him along with a few other rats. Two rats get close to Kurushimi. Then one gets bisected and one rat is close to Kurushimi. It wields it's spear bravely for someone who just saw their buddy get cleft in twain. This leaves 10 rats to begin swarming up to the back line which consists of two mages. In total 6 rats are engaging in melee, 5 rats are laughing at Sabi, and 10 rats are preparing to swarm the mages. 2 rats are Taken Down.

The demon continues to rampage about, until Marisa makes a motion much like she was pulling on some sort of invisible leash. This causes it to turn and begin bashing the rats between it and its current master, while she herself moves her hand in a large circle, tracing a glowing path through the air as she draws some kind of rune in it.

'Grrr...! Stop laughing at me, you rat bastaaaards!" He gets up on his feet quickly, brandishing his swords at them despite his rather embarrassing display. He starts swinging wildly at the rats wrathfully, each swipe with all the force of a rather lightweight young adult with two foam swords.

[SOLDIER First]

Kurushimi draws again and calmly slices the head of the rat's spear off the shaft. Then they stop moving, and stare deeply into the rat's eyes with their blank, soulless visor. It is a gaze that says many things and none at once.
