I'm clueless, how do I use Regional Prospector?

It looks like a great utility, but it dosen't have any instructions AT ALL. When do I run it, how do I use it? What am I looking for?

1. Open DF. Try to keep it on the Title Page.

2. Click on the .exe for the prospector. After a few seconds, try to embark somewhere.

Most features are in mountians, although you will still see magma pockets in some places.

I would bet money Andrew has edited things retroactively, except I can't prove anything because it was edited retroactively.

Oh bloody hell, I just realized why I'm confused.

I'm using Mike Mayday's graphics set: http://mayday.w.staszic.waw.pl/df.htm

Now I have to figure out which icons were re-represented as what...

I use the same graphics set ...
The way I do it:
Open DF folder (dwarfort.exe and regional_prospector.exe in that folder)
start Dwarf Fortress, Enter on "Start Playing"
You now see mountains on the 'Choose Fortress Location' screen.
Doubleclick regional_prospector.exe
Some of the map tiles should have changed.

The symbols are different from vanilla df, but I think I've got it:

Grey # = Chasm
Small, light blue circle and 2 squares on white = hidden fun stuff?
(There's always only one of these tiles, must be HFS)

Fat blue lines on white: Underground river, though I think sometimes it's just a normal river that has cut a canyon.

Thin blue lines on white: underground water pool? Haven't bothered yet.

Fat red lines on white: Magma pool reaching surface
Thin red lines on white: Underground magma pool?

Its sorta HFS, its the adamantine deposit. One per mountain tile.
