Extending History
« on: August 12, 2016, 06:28:59 pm »

Being able to add more years to an already generated world with a menu button or another out of world method would be great, since you could see what would happen to your retired fortress or your retired adventurer, and potentially even unretire them (if they didn't fall or die). It would be nice to see if your adventurer did something like build a tower if they were a necromancer or just settle somewhere and stay there.

Good if you can't focus on a single project long enough to make a full game. Or for making an entire large game, if you feel like it.

Would be very neat however might be hard to implement and could be exploited(?)

It's kind of planned, Toady's mentioned building a farm and retiring and then playing later as that adventurers descendents for example.

At the same time it's apparently technically quite challenging to get back into high-speed world-gen once the world is in place. So you'd be passing time at a plodding calendar screen pace or something new would need to be made.
