Jumping question (Solved!)
« on: August 14, 2016, 10:58:03 am »

If I want a creature that can jump really, really far and uses this as its main mode of transportation, how do I do that?

Is this for a Tigger mod?

No, it's actually for a mod that adds Binding of Isaac monsters. I have a feeling that game and DF would meld well :P
I'm currently making this , which is known for the fact it can jump absurdly far and right onto your head.

You can't really do anything with jumping, except mark a creature as unable to jump.

My advice would be to simulate its unusual motion and attack using custom gaits and attack timers.  In general I simulate "hopping" creatures by making them capable of moving relatively quickly without a build-up, but unable to "run", this makes them agile at close range but unable to give chase.  They still only 'hop' one space at a time though.

Thank you! I made a new gait for it after figuring out how.
