Different types of coins
« on: January 30, 2008, 05:24:00 pm »

So I'm going to start minting some coins soon, I have tons of iron and barely any gold, silver, and copper. So I'm considering minting a ton of iron, but I remember hearing something about that while you can mint coins out of other metals, copper, silver, and gold get their value multiplied. So, the wiki only mentions copper, silver, and gold, but assuming you can mint coins out of other stuff, how much are their values multiplied by?

The dwarves, as far as I know, will only use copper, silver, and gold coins as currency in vanilla DF.  I understand the mod is fairly easy to get them to use other metals, but in vanilla exotic metal coins are only useful as a trade good.

In the same way that rock doors are useful as a trade good.
Sure, they are worth more than nothing, but there are so much better trade goods you can make with the same material.

Also, questions go in the questions section.
