You crouch down as you ready yourself to burst out. You think about saying 'cracker', but it would blow your cover and you don't think Trigger has the mental capacity for that sort of thing anyway, if you didn't sort it out beforehand. Just before you crash out you hear Maman's bathroom door crash open, and a sort of wild yelling, before it tapers off and something goes "....Ah shit."

Numerous shots are heard, and you burst out the door.

In a split second you register Maman, slumping to the floor, hands on something embedded in her stomach, and Trigger on his face with numerous sharp objects in his back. You hear something scurrying up the stairway.

"Oh, hell no. Come back here!" Cautiously storm up the stairs pausing at the corner to peek around before just rushing out there.

As you storm up the stairs, you hear more gunshots ringing out from above, and hear various yelled obscenities, before the gunshots go silent and the yelling stops.

You guess you can always go back and see if Maman is fixable. Trigger's definitely down, though.

Alternatively, you can investigate what has happened to the rest.

You fall back down the stairs, disquieted by the quiet pattering from above.

You fall on your knees and check Trigger. Seeing the huge pool of blood beside him, you highly suspect he is dead. However, you have no time to thoroughly check because Maman comes to, groaning and cursing quietly. Kneeling beside her, you take out your rudimentary field medical kit and take out bandages and tightly bandage around the sharp object stuck in her stomach. If you pull it out, a large amount of blood would come out and it would ruin her chances of survival. You also give her a shot of morphine. It's not enough, you know, but it'll stabilize Maman for now, and you don't really want to use the experimental nanobot medkit yet.

With a start, you spin around with your rifle as your ears pick up steps shuffling up behind you.

"Quiet! It's just me." Hitman whispers, and you lower your rifle. "What the hell happened to these guys?"

Tell Hitman that they were attacked by something and that we tried looking for it upstairs.
Ask Hitman what happened to him.
